In Western Alaska many of the age of a victim is13, And in Southcentral Alaska it is just12 years old.
Who do is assaulting Alaska's women? really, This can be another blemish on our state. Our women, some of them Alaska Native, Are being bombarded by men who theyknow in only 2.4% of incidents was the offender a stranger to the victim. so 97.6% of times the young woman who was assaulted knew the man who assaulted her. And in 59% of incidents those young women are assaulted by a man of their own race.

I will encourage dept,system of Law attorneys to volunteer to man the sexual assault and domestic violence hotline of the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. And I will raise the number of pro bono cases that state attorneys can handle for victims.
